5 day course of studies developed

officials and senior administrative
employees.
- Lynda was recently elected
to the Alberta Capital Region Alliance
Management Committee by her peers - other
elected officials from the 22
municipalities in the
Capital Region.
- Given her strong belief in sustainable
development,
Lynda Moffat fought
to establish St.
Albert's Council
Environment Committee,
which she
now chairs.

Chamber of Commerce and the St.
Albert Economic Development Advisory

Accomplishments as a Council member
- moving forward on the West Regional Road - one of the issues Lynda
successfully tackled as Chamber of Commerce President even before she was
elected to Council
- chairing the Council Environment Committee, whose accomplishments have
included developing the City’s statement of corporate environment policy
entitled The Road to Environmental Excellence, initiating a business case to
include the FireSmart program in the 2005 budget, bringing forward a motion
to establish Big Lake’s designation as a Provincial Park, developing a
pilot project Environmental Management System for St. Albert Transit, and
completing St. Albert’s first-ever annual State of the Environment report
- in addition to Lynda's leadership of our Environment Committee, she's also
an active participant in the Big Lake Basin Study Steering Committee
- getting the non-smoking bylaw passed - an important step in protecting the
health and wellness of all St. Albert residents
- moving forward on a multi-purpose recreation centre and planning a public
plebiscite to occur on October 18
- getting the City's finances and business planning in order - a vital
foundation for sound, long-term governance
- advocating the development of a business park in North Campbell, geared
towards the attraction of a technology sector
- approval of the Red Willow Park Master Plan to guide future development,
including an interpretive centre
- supporting preservation and development of our heritage sites
- supporting the St. Albert Library, St. Albert Seniors Club, and St. Albert
Community Youth Centre in their requests for funding
