Releases
Moffat Blogs
July
29, 2004, St.
Albert – Mayoralty
candidate Lynda Moffat has officially
launched her campaign web site, and
it features a blog, short for weblog,
which is her personal on-line campaign
journal. “Blogging gives me
one more way to share my thoughts
on local events and issues with other
St. Albert residents,” explained
Moffat. “Every week I have
opportunities to chat with hundreds
of people, yet I can’t keep
in touch everyone in person as often
as I’d like to. So having a
blog on my web site
just made sense.”
So far,
Moffat’s blog includes
entries on the St. Albert Farmers’ Market,
which draws tourists
and local residents to our downtown;
Canada Day celebrations, which caused
her to reflect on the coming-together
of our Federal, Provincial, and Municipal
elected representatives; and June
17, when she announced her intention
to be the next Mayor of St. Albert.
“Over the next few months,
I’ll be door-knocking in all
of our neighbourhoods,” said
Moffat. “While I’m looking
forward to some good face-to-face
discussions, I hope people won’t
wait to see me in person if they
have questions or concerns. My blog
is available 24 hours a day and if
it doesn’t cover a topic someone’s
interested in I hope they’ll
e-mail me so I can
tackle that issue in an upcoming
blog entry. Of course, I always welcome
phone calls too!”
Moffat’s
web site is www.lyndamoffat.com.
Her blog entries
show up on the home page, in reverse
chronological order, and can also
be accessed by clicking on the “Lynda’s Web Journal” link
on the left side of the home page.
Moffat’s campaign phone number
is 458-1655.
